TIRANA, May 2 – The United Nations has added a Jordanian citizen, who also keeps Albanian citizenship, on a list of the most wanted persons involved in terrorist activities.
On Monday the U.N. said it had added Abdyl Latif Saleh to its terror list. Saleh is a Jordanian born in 1957 in Baghdad, Iraq who has been known to use six other names. He has been one of the closest aides of Yasin Kadi, who has been accused of terrorism. Al Kadi is one of the persons who was involved in the destruction of the Twin Towers.
Saleh keeps two Albanian passports issued in 1993 and 1995 after receiving citizenship in 1992.
Other names Saleh has used in the past include Abdul Latif, Latif Saleh, Saleh, Abdul Latif A.A. Saleh, Abdyl Latif Saleh, Dr. Abd al-Latif Saleh, Abdul Latif A.A. Saleh Abu Hussein, Abd al-Latif Salih, and Abu Amir.
His passport numbers are: Jordanian D366 871, Albanian 314772 issued March 8, 1993 and also 0334695 issued Dec. 1, 1995.
An international arrest warrant has been issued for Saleh. His place of residence is not known, though he was found to be residing in 2005 in the United Arab Emirates. He left Albania in 1999.
The Albanian government has frozen his bank accounts and other property. Tirana has passed laws that allow the seizure of all property of the persons on an international arrest warrant by the United Nations.
