TIRANA, Dec. 15 – U.S. Ambassador John L. Withers delivered to Albanian State Police a database that included personnel records for every Albanian police officer. The database, called “Cyberworks,” was developed during the past three years with Albanian state police. ICITAP provided over $140,000 dollars in funding for this project, with some additional costs shared by the ASP. This project provides the ASP with the capability of tracking the training history of all members of the agency, projecting the training needs of the agency, developing resource tracking including courses, classrooms, equipment and instructors and developing and delivering training remotely through the internet. ICITAP developed, distributed, and collected a questionnaire from each member of the ASP regarding his/her demographic data and training history. Each record was then entered into the “Cyberworks” database – approximately 10,000 in all. Unique employee numbers were then assigned to each member of the ASP. This project gives the ASP its first-ever comprehensive automated personnel database and vastly enhances its ability to manage ASP’s human resources.
