TIRANA, Feb. 2 – Vodafone Albania Foundation, established only last week, seeks to respond to community needs by allocating grants to local organizations, including non-profit organizations, civil society and government institutions.
Vodafone Albania Foundation is an independent legal entity supported by Vodafone Albania and the Vodafone Group Foundation which has developed a unique, worldwide network of 24 foundations throughout the world during the last six years.
The Vodafone Albania Foundation is focused on making a positive contribution to local communities with direct grants to locally registered charities and NGOs to fund projects that make a social impact.
It will specifically focus on education, health, social welfare and the environment to ultimately benefit people in need, especially children with special needs, as well as other vulnerable groups.
Key priorities for the Vodafone Albania Foundation are to focus on social issues that will help people to lead fuller lives by sharing the benefits of mobile communications technology as widely as possible; protecting the natural environment; and supporting the local communities in which Vodafone’s customers, employees, investors and suppliers live. The activity of the Vodafone Albania Foundation will be financed through an annual donation from The Vodafone Group Foundation and Vodafone Albania.
