Volcanic ash postpones Italian-Albanian book fair

TIRANA, April 20 – Three events scheduled to be held in Tirana by the Italian embassy have been cancelled because of the volcanic ash which made flights to Albania from northern Italy impossible.
A musical by Turin theatres, an economic forum and a book fair were among the scheduled activities that have been cancelled.
The Italian embassy said the events scheduled to be held in cooperation with the Turin institutions would be staged in the second half of May.
The book fair bringing together Albanian and Italian publishers was scheduled to open on Thursday in the square in front of the Gallery of Arts in Tirana.
Meanwhile, a musical show by Sandro Cappelletto was staged on Wednesday evening at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The lyrical show by Cappelletto, the president of the Roman Philarmony brought arias and duets by Italy’s Puccini including La Boheme and Turandot operas.
