What’s Up photo competition announces winners

TIRANA, June 29 – Last week, at the M. Shyri AMC Shop in Tirana, the winners of the What’s Up competition of photos made with mobiles were announced. It’s the third year that AMC promotes a competition of photos coming from mobiles, highlighting the communication and creative power of mobile phones.
More than 400 photos were submitted from photo enthusiasts from Albania and Albanians that live abroad. Entries of this edition were structured in Photojournalism, Nature, Students’ Life, Social and Others categories, with a prize for the best of each category.
Best photo of this edition was Alba Canaj’s entry. Winners of each category were respectively Fatos Hakorja, Dorina Lekaj, Megi Nikolla, Besfort Kryeziu and Ada Shkurtaj. As previously announced, the big prize of this competition is the famous iPhone 4, while the other winners each received a Motorola Defy Black handset.
All entries were moments from everyday life, including all geographical areas of Albania, various aspects of social situations, and personal experiences. The quality of photographs submitted gets better each year, due to the technological improvement of handsets but also to the talented young people that prefer to use mobile handsets not only for communication.
AMC also announced that the Photo Competition of 2012 will be focused on the environment and nature, in the framework of AMC Green.
