Albanian artist, Saimir Strati, is working from Aug 8th to create the biggest mosaic in the world made of wine taps and therefore to break the Guinness world record.
The subject of the mosaic is called “Mediterranean”. The artwork lays on a 97 m2 surface and will be made of approximately 300,000 wine taps. It consists of music, sun, and sea elements. At this stage of the work, one can clearly make out the shapes, the portrait, the guitar, the waves, and the sun. The artist works days and nights at the front courtyard of Infinity Bar, Sheraton Hotel, and the “live” performance can be seen by everyone. Also, everyone is invited to bring signed wine taps at the place, which will be used Strati on the mosaic. The artwork is planned to be finished by Sep. 4th.
The performance for the biggest mosaic of wine taps will be followed by a personal exhibition of Saimir Strati. The exhibition, also taking place at Sheraton hotel, will present to the public 9 other works from the author. Included, there will be Strati’s two previous Guinness world records.
