TIRANA, May 28 – Kosovo media Indeksonline reported Albert Veliu and his son were arrested in Kosovo on Monday morning.

Otherwise known as Witness X in the famous wiretap published by the country’s opposition, in which Veliu is being allegedly helped by the brother of Albania’s interior minister Agron Xhafaj to traffic drugs, Veliu was staying at Prishtina’s suburb Shtime at the time of arrest.

According to the brief news article, Veliu and his son were both arrested, while Albanian media were immediately notified.

Veliu uncovered his identity right after the wiretap was made public by the DP and was immediately thereafter called by the country’s prosecution to be interrogated concerning the Xhafaj case, which has the country’s opposition demanding the interior minister resigns.

Currently, the country’s prosecution is running an independent investigation on the minister and his brother’s case.
