TIRANA, June 2 – Young artists from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia joined in Tirana for three days in an event featuring visual arts exhibitions, concerts and workshops.
The “Three-arched bridge” event, held from May 30 to June 2, came as a joint project by the art academies of Tirana, Prishtina and Tetovo.
This year’s second edition of the project opened with a joint exhibition at the FAP gallery of the Academy of Arts featuring artworks in different genres such as paintings, installations, sculptures, mosaics and textile works. Some 40 students from the three faculties participated in the event.
“These are three Albanian-speaking institutions which once a year bring their best works in music, performing and visual arts,” said the exhibition’s curator Ermir Hoxha.
The “Three-arched bridge” project continued on Monday with the screening of some short-films produced by students and discussions with professors on movie scripts including renowned Kosovo actor and director Enver Petrovci and painter Ardian Isufi.
Music students of the Tirana, Prishtina and Tetova faculties also gave a concert performing parts from Chopin, Puccini, Bellini etc.
“The “Three-arched bridge” is a project which came as a joint concern to do something together and get to know each other better,” a Kosovo professor said.
Meanwhile, Petrit Malaj, the dean of the Fine Arts Academy in Tirana, described the event as a great value of the integration, perfection and consolidation of the Albanian national art.
Organizers hope the third edition of the event will be held in Tetovo, Macedonia, after the first and second editions in Prishtina and Tirana.
