TIRANA, Sept. 12 – Interior Minister Sokol Olldashi has undertaken a reform of the police structure which will fire 1,500 policemen. The reform is to end until Oct. 10 when its ranks will be cut by 15 percent. At the same time there is also a reform on their ranks. One hundred of them have preferred not to sign a request to leave their grades, unlike 700 others who agreed with the move. The refusal means an automatic fire from the police ranks. If they agreed with the reform they would be paid for two years if fired, something they do not profit now.
