Albanian Recycling Association created in Tirana

TIRANA, Jan, 25 – International Financial Corporation organized in Tirana a roundtable of the Albanian businessmen involved in the recycling industry in the country. Businessmen decided to create their association in an effort to help their efforts to better protect environment in the country. The IFC will help the association to improve and develop the recycling process. The recycling industry is a very important one taking into consideration the country’s integration efforts into the European Union. Albania practices recycling of plastic, metal, paper, glass and textile products.
The IFC also exploited the roundtable to sign an agreement with the Roma association on Contemporary Vision that would help better manage the collection of different remnant materials and their processing. The IFC would like to create two pilot cooperative for the collection of the recycling materials. It is well known that the Roma community bases much of its daily income in the collection of such materials mainly in the capital Tirana.
