TIRANA, Oct. 15 – Albanian Defense Minister Fatmir Mediu traveled on an official visit to Vienna Monday to meet with top officials in the Defense Ministry and Austrian parliament.
Mediu’s main topic of discussion was Albania’s efforts to become a NATO member next year at Bucharest summit in April.
Integration efforts into the European Union were also part of the talks. Austria also gave a considerable amount of military help to Albania, according to the statement, which did not specify the assistance. As expected, Kosova independence was another main topic of discussion for which Mediu also asked Austria’s support.
