TIRANA, Jan. 1 – Albania’s top officials said that an independent Kosova and becoming a NATO member remained the two top priorities for the country this year.
These were the two main topics mentioned in end of year addresses by Prime Minister Sali Berisha and President Bamir Topi.
“Albania is near the realization of its desire to become a NATO member in April, proving it is returning to the family of the civilized countries which it belongs to,” said Topi, adding, “Kosova will celebrate the biggest victory in its history, its independence as a new state with European borders and concepts.”
