TIRANA, Aug 27 – The anti-smoking ban is to return to parliament for amending, according to health authorities.
Gjergj Ndoja of the Institute of Hygiene said the amendments will make possible that many institutions will profit from part from tobacco taxes in the country.
The amendments also envisage setting a fine on persons smoking in non-smoking areas.
A law imposed last year on creating non-smoking areas has been seen as, so far, having minimal results and authorities are considering new ways to impose its application.
Cigarette sellers also said that, recently, there was a new increase in prices. (Tirana Times Staff)
