EU offers scholarships for 10 Albanian students

TIRANA, Oct 13 – European Union offers the opportunity for 10 Albanian High School students to participate in “EuroMed-Scola”, which will be held on 16-17 November 2008, at the premises of European Parliament, Strasbourg, France.
European Movement in Albania (EMA) is entrusted by Delegation of European Commission to Albania (ECD) to coordinate this event.
The aim of “EuroMed-Scola” Programme is to prepare a young generation based on values such as: tolerance, civilization, freedom, pace and respect of human rights, bearing in mind that through contacts among youth is possible to create an area where European values are shared by all of us.
Young participants from 27 EU Member States and 12 states from Euro-Mediterranean Partnership are invited to discuss debate and adopt resolutions on matters concerning Union for Mediterranean / Barcelona Process and on issues of common interest for the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership.
“EuroMed-Scola” Programme includes a tour in Strasbourg where young participants will be introduced with the European Parliament activity.
During their visit, Albanian young participants will take part in seminars where different issues will be discussed. They will sit first in “Committee Sessions” and then in a “Plenary Session”, where they will debate and adopt resolutions.
All the financial costs incurred from the participation in this event will be covered by the European Union.
Applicants should be between 16 to 18 years old, with good knowledge (spoken) in English or French, with a valid passport and also write a letter of interest or CV until Oct. 20.
