TIRANA, Oct 15 – It was during the visit from the Albanian Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, that the Spanish foreign policy commission ratified the NATO membership protocol signed from Albania in July and required to be ratified by all the 26 member countries before the tiny Balkan country may get the full membership of the alliance.
Topalli also got the confirmation from Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodrigez Zapatero for the support to Albania’s NATO membership.
Spain was also one of the first countries to also ratify the Stabilization and Association Agreement Albania signed with the European Union two years ago, the first step toward full membership into the bloc.
