NEW YORK, Nov 6 – The National Albanian American Council (NAAC) congratulates newly elected President Barack Obama on his historic victory to become the 44th President of the United States of America, and also Vice President Joe Biden. They also welcome the victories of the Co-Chairs of the Albanian Issues Caucus, Congressman Eliot Engel (D) and Congressman Mark Kirk (R), and the victories of the numerous Senators and Congressmen who have been strong supporters of Albanian issues.
NAAC looks forward to furthering our close collaboration with President Obama, his administration, the Senate and the House of Representatives, according to a statement. “Today, soldiers from Albania serve bravely with US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the people of Kosova remain forever indebted to the US government securing Kosovo’s independence.”
They also congratulated the Albanian American community for their active participation in the elections “as a vibrant community throughout the US” making tremendous strides towards helping to build a better future for our children in the US and helping to support our families and friends in the Balkans.”
