TIRANA, July 20 – Lutfi Shabani, a.k.a Ben ȡmi, was considered by prosecutors as the head of a big criminal gang trafficking drugs from eastern Europe to western countries like Italy.
Prosecutors asked that Shabani and his collaborators be sentenced for international drug traffic.
Prosecutors asked for a 14-year imprisonment for Shabani and eight and a half to ten years for five other collaborators.
They were accused of trafficking from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to Italy at least 54 kilograms of heroin. They were arrested last year.
In another operation codenamed Closed Circle police arrested Shkelqim Mici, 43, accusing him of drug trafficking.
