Berisha invites Czech investors

TIRANA, Oct 5 – Premier Berisha welcomed the Czech President in his first visit to Albania, considering it an historical day for relations between Albania and the Czech Republic.
Premier Berisha expressed deep gratitude for the support offered from Klaus and the Czech Republic to Albania during the post-communist period, especially with Albania’s NATO and EU integration.
President Klaus thanked Premier Berisha for the hospitality and said that Albania has been the subject of great transformations in the course of recent years thanks to deep reforms and efforts of the Albanian government and its leadership, and added that these results are visible to everyone.
Berisha briefed Klaus on developments in Albania with the continuous fight against corruption and crime, as well as progress of reforms in different fields, focusing in particular on the great potential of Albania in the fields of tourism, energy, and mines.
Berisha expressed his satisfaction over the increase of development of economic relations between the two countries, underlining that in the framework of a tourist boom in our country, a considerable number of Czechs visited Albania.
Berisha said that foreign investments were a priority for the Albanian government which will back Czech investors who were welcomed in Albania, expressing the conviction that their investments will be a history of success.
Klaus stressed that there is a great interest of Czech companies in projects in infrastructure in Albania. Berisha said that Czech investors were welcomed in government projects for the renewal of the railway network and major ports in Albania.
The two leaders discussed the importance of great European projects passing through the Balkans, considering them as extremely important and vital for the development and progress in Balkan countries.
