Convicted murderer arrested in Italy, another extradited

TIRANA, Oct 25 – Italian police arrested Fatjon Kodra who used a pseudonym as Arben Bakalli following a request from Albanian counterparts. Kodra was sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering a person and injuring another one downtown in the capital of Tirana in 1999 following a quarrel.
His extradition procedure will soon follow to bring him back home to serve prison.
In another event Zenel Brahimetaj, 51, sentenced to 25 years imprisonment, was extradited from Italy.
Brahimetaj was sentenced in 1992 by the Mat district court to 25 years imprisonment for a murder he had committed that year following a quarrel with a neighboring family.
He had left prison during the 1997 anarchy. He was arrested in Italy in August following a request from the Albanian police.
