TIRANA, Nov 18 – The police trade union called on the government to offer better financial payment to the police forces who are confronted with life threatening situations every moment of their daily work.
The trade union asked the government to pay a monthly payment to each policeman for the work done during this year, especially the coverage of the June election when they were commended for their behavior.
The trade union said that policemen have continuously worked over the usual 40 hours per week but have not been properly compensated for that. On average policemen have worked 380 hours more but have got no compensation at all.
The statement did not say ‘what if’ the government did not agree on that.
Policemen are not allowed to hold a strike or any form of protest.
