Cold weather with problems countrywide

TIRANA, Dec 21 – Heavy snow, rain and cold weather caused many problems all around the country.
The north, east and southeast areas of the country were covered from snow and ice, blocking transport to some communities and also hampering normal driving on many national roads.
There were many accidents on such roads, some with fatal results.
The rain, on its side, also flooded many areas in the west damaging homes, markets and also agriculture land.
Floods in some areas also damaged the electricity distribution network cutting normal supply for some hours.
The emergency authorities said they were in full control of the situation, urging people not to drive to the northeast if possible.
Some national roads were temproarily blocked by heavy snow and ice.
