TIRANA, Jan. 5 – Italian police seized more than 400 kilograms of cannabis believed to have come from Albania.
The drug was found last weekend during a check of an abandoned motor boat close to the Italian city of Lecce. Police said the drugs very likely came from Albania but an investigation would clarify that.
The Italian authorities say that cannabis contraband from Albania has risen in the past few months.
That is contrary to what the Albanian authorities say. The Albanian government recently extended a previous law prohibiting the use of motor boats by Albanian citizens for another three years.
