TIRANA, Jan. 5 – Thousands of Albanian immigrants had to wait for hours at the border crossings and the ports to return to their residences in neighboring Greece and also nearby Italy.
Authorities said that more than 100,000 Albanian immigrants had returned from Greece to pass their New Year holidays at home here in Albania.
Long lines of cars waiting to cross the border points were seen during the first days this year, mainly due to the small number of police boxes, mainly on the Greek side.
