Palestine, Albania pledge to increase ties

TIRANA, Feb. 28 – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ilir Meta met with visiting Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Malki to share the assessment on the good relations of cooperation between Albania and the Palestinian National Authority.
Both sides expressed the will for the further development of this cooperation in the economic, educational, and cultural areas.
An important place during the talks was devoted to the situation in Middle East and largely to the peace process in this region.
Meta said that the Albanian Government vigorously supports the Middle East Peace Process and the Quartet endeavors to this end.
He underlined Albania’s support for the efforts of the Palestinian National Authority and international community on the establishment of the Palestinian state, continuously adhering to the international community positions on the creation of two states, aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Middle East region.
Al-Malki commended the position of the Albanian Government and expressed the positions of the Palestinian National Authority on the Middle East Peace Process.
Al-Malki invited Meta for a visit to Palestine.
