TIRANA, Feb. 4 – Albanian police have arrested seven people as part of an international operation codenamed Tempesta in collaboration with their Italian, Greek and Romanian counterparts.
They are believed to be part of an international ring of prostitution that exploited women from these countries to serve in Italy as prostitutes. They are also accused of trafficking drugs.
The seven, aged 21 to 37 years old, arrested in Albania were apprehended in Vlora, Fier and Tirana.
In total 30 people were arrested in the four countries as being part of two criminal organizations linked to each other, one in Milan covering prostitution and the other in Florence dealing is drugs.
The seven in Albania will be extradited to Italy where they are accused of being part of a criminal organization.
