PEZA, Sep 16 – Peza, the village best known in the country for its meeting in 1942 where they tried to reconcile the then-communist and nationalist parties in the fight against fascist Italy, continues to remain a place of reconciliation.
It has become normal that only the leftist political groupings continue to celebrate the Sep. 16 anniversary.
This time main Socialist Party leader Edi Rama was also joined by the Social Democrats and the Social Democracy leaders, Skender Gjinushi and Paskal Milo, respectively.
He also met with some leaders of the Socialist Movement for Integration Party of Ilir Meta, which is now in a governing coalition with Democrats’ Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
Five of them were against the coalition with the Democrats and seem to have separated themselves from the party. They were also present in Peza Wednesday.
The local media also reported that in the meeting of the political leaders the main issue to be discussed was the idea of crafting a leftist political federation, that is, a union of all the leftist parties under the Socialist leadership.
A leftist federation?
