TIRANA, March 9 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha hailed the Parliamentary elections in Iraq and considered them a major historic achievement of Iraqi people and all its friends.
A statement from his office said that the vote in Iraq testified to the entire world the determination of Iraqi citizens to build on the values of democracy, free society and the future in Iraq.
That’s good, very good.
Besides Albania has been present with its peacekeeping army troops for some years in Iraq which means it is entitled for giving its opinion on the election.
Well, but Albanians would likely say, “better first take care of yourself before telling the others how they’ve done,” or some angry people in this tiny Balkan country could loudly say, “do you really know what is good or bad voting? You have not shown it yourself for 19 years during the post-communist democracy. So first learn for yourself and don’t boast by giving your opinion to others.”
Post-communist Albania has never held a single election that could have been considered as fully following the international standards of voting.
