Albania holds ceremony for Rugova

TIRANA, Jan. 23 – On the anniversary of the death of the Kosova leader, Ibrahim Rugova, Albanian authorities held a ceremony to commemorate his work. Senior government members and diplomats took part in the meeting. “We are here to express our honor to one of the most distinguished personalities of our national history,” said Prime Minister Sali Berisha. “Rugova’s inheritance surpassed a national one. He was beloved to Albanians but also with a great spirit respecting all Kosova citizens,” said Berisha. Concerning the near statement on the possibility of Kosova’s independence, Berisha appealed to Kosova citizens and political leadership to support President Ahtisaari in his project.
