TIRANA, March 29 – The launch of a tolling system on the Highway of Nation linking Albania to Kosovo has angered local communities, businesses and the opposition who fear the average €5 fees on the country’s first toll road will have a negative impact on the poor northern Albanian households as well as trade and tourism flows between the two ethnic Albanian neighboring countries. Kosovo politicians, businesses and tourists have also opposed what they call a heavy tax levied on Albanians and pan-Albanian integration.
