TIRANA, Nov 5 – Albanian military introduced this week how they were to gather the new professional soldiers, or paid ones.
Albania has said that by the end of 2009 there will be no more conscripts and all military would be made up of professional ones.
That is part of the reform the Albanian army is holding along its efforts to become a full NATO member, probably next year.
The army chief of staff military were Tuesday in Fier district together with local authorities.
Albania aims at creating a modern army with professional soldiers.
The country got the membership invitation at the NATO summit earlier this year, a move that was followed with the signing of the membership protocol in July.
All NATO member countries have to ratify the protocol before the country may join NATO at its next summit together with Croatia.
