TIRANA, Aug. 12 – Three Albanian artists are taking part in the Goteborg biennale to be held from Aug. 25 to Nov. 25.

Armand Lulaj will present two works. One is titled Living in Memory, which he also showed during the Tirana biennale. The second is titled Common Assembly and imitates a meeting of the United Nations’ Security Council. Lulaj won the 2006 Onufri award in Albania.

The second artist, Sislej Xhafa, is from Kosova but now lives in the United States. He is to show the Khaleen carpet, measuring 2 x 6 meters, and is working in Afghanistan. The carpet presents a 100-dollar banknote view.

The other artist, Anri Sala, will show a video he has produced three years ago entitled Lak-kat. The video shows a group of children from Senegal taught by a teacher using certain words.

Together with Joa Ljungberg, Albanian curator Edi Muka is co-coordinator of the biennale where some 28 artists from around the world will take part.
