Albanian extradited from Greece, police stop human traffic efforts

TIRANA, Nov 9 – Fatmir Kodhelaj, 34, was extradited from Greece to serve imprisonment in Albania for human trafficking.
Kodhelaj was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment for assisting people to illegally cross the border into Greece for which he asked a payment of 1,700 Euros.
In 2006 there was issued an international arrest warrant after assisting a couple to cross into Greece.
In another operation police arrested Perparim Vata, 34, and Pandeli Goga, 54, also for assisting other people to cross the border illegally.
In Fier police arrested Kovac Yzeiraj and Kahreman Mecaj after trying to illegally take a couple across the Greek border for a payment of 3,000 Euros. They used false documents to cross the Kakavie border crossing point.
