ROME, April 9 – Italy will help Albania created a network to link its universities and bring them closer to Europe.
That is considered as a true significant progress for their future and that is to be done with the assistance of the Italian Cooperation, which over the next three years will build a scholarly electronic network, linking the 11 public universities and research centers in the country with Italian counterparts.
A project, that has its roots as far back as 1997 when the commission created by the then Italian government conceived the idea, will create a common virtual space for Albanian universities, a gateway to the European academic world.
The project, funded with a grant of four million euro, is the first example of funding which will be directly managed by the government in Tirana with the technical contribution from two Italian universities.
Albanian universities have been deprived of an electronic network which would help them get closer to the European network.
