Alleged drug traffickers arrested

TIRANA, March 9 – Police reported they had arrested Nertil Murrja, 19, who was accused of distributing drugs in the capital, Tirana.
Murrja was arrested Tuesday at a main street in downtown Tirana after finding 20 portions of some 7.3 grams of heroin hidden in his car.
Albania is a transit country for heroin mainly coming from as far as Afghanistan and also a place of origin of cannabis sativa.
Fighting drug traffic remains a main priority along the country’s efforts to integrate into the European Union.
