TIRANA, May 14 – The “Alex Buda” high school in Lapraka, Tirana, has been provided with a new sports corner. AMC supported the reconstruction of two sports fields in the school that will be used for sports education and organising various athletic activities.
The School’s Director, Elona Maliqi and the Manager of AMC Corporate Affairs, Ornela Bego, inaugurated the new sports premises, in the presence of representatives from the Municipality of Tirana and around 800 students. After the short ceremony, a team composed by AMC employees and another team with students played the first basketball match in one the new fields, amid the applauds of those present.
This cooperation is related to AMC’s contribution to education and the strengthening of good relations with the community, since the school is located near the company’s headquarters.
In another event, some 200 AMC employees participated in a clean-up campaign at the Spille beach in Kavaja area last weekend as part of the AMC Green initiative. The employees were joined by local holidaymakers and inhabitants cleaning up 1 kilometre in the beach’s most populated area. The initiative precedes the opening of the new summer season contributing to the improvement of community areas and raising awareness about keeping a clean environment.
This is the third year, AMC employees have been engaged to clean up environmental areas attracting large numbers of visitors. Other similar initiatives in the Lalzit Bay, the National Dajti Park and the Shengjin beach have been previously held as part of the AMC Green initiative.
