Ammunition found near Shkodra Lake

SHKODRA, Feb. 5 – Police found a considerable amount of ammunition at a place not far from the Shkodra lake. Some children at the city quarter named Guerile had seen two big boxes with some shells which police identified as anti-tank ones. Besides the two boxes police found 11 others spread around. It is believed they were ammunition remained there since the 1997 hectic year when army depots were looted by the desperate population losing its life savings at the failed pyramid investment schemes. Hundreds of thousands of weapons and tons of ammunition still remain in the peoples’ hands.
