Balkan army General Staff meet in Turkey

BELEK, July 7 – Army General Staff chiefs of Balkan countries convened at a conference in the Mediterranean province of Antalya between July 6th and 8th.
General Staff chiefs of Turkey, Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Greece attended the conference.
High-level military officials and delegations from NATO and the EU also participated in the conference.
Chief of Turkey’s General Staff, Gen. Yasar Buyukanit, underscored the need for regional and global cooperation and solidarity for security and stability. He said that this solidarity should be real, not only in words.
The first conference was held in Greece in 2007. (Tirana Times Staff)
