TIRANA, Sep 22 – Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha made a two-day visit to Washington to meet with senior U.S. officials and discuss on bilateral ties, regional developments and Albania’s hope of becoming a full NATO member next year.
Basha met with senior officials of the White House, James Jeffrey (former ambassador to Albania), Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Fried, senators and congressmen.
Basha paid special attention during the meetings to his executive’s effort in the economic and fiscal reforms, fight against corruption and organized crime, not forgetting electoral reform and that in justice.
