TIRANA, Oct 21 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha took part at the session “Geographical Limits of European Union and Good Neighborly Policies” held in Vienna, Austria, a conference organized by European Ideas Network of Summer University on “World in 2025”.
He addressed the session and also held a series of meetings with personalities and leaders participating at the conference.
The conference was organized as an initiative of EPP-ED group launched seven years ago and held before in Oxford, Madrid, Berlin, Lisbon, Lyon, Warsaw and Fiuggi.
Berisha met with Joseph Daul, chairman of European People’s Party at the European Parliament, whom he informed on the reforms undertaken by his government in meeting the standards and the necessary criteria for the EU integration.
Berisha said that the EC 2009 Progress-Report on Albania would serve as a road-map for the government in the European integration process. He also asked for Daul’s support of European People’s Party group for the visa liberalization process for Albanians, as well as Albania’s integration into European Union.
He also talked with President of European Parliament Jerzy Buzek telling him about the country’s reforms in the economic, political and social field of the country.
