Berisha pledges support to Gostivar authorities

TIRANA, April 12 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha had a friendly meeting with Rufi Osmani, head of Gostivari commune, and his associates to talk on the situation of the ethnic Albanian community in neighboring Macedonia, especially at their area.
Osmani thanked Berisha for his contribution in support of the human rights of the Albanians in Macedonia, promotion of the democratic processes and Europeanization of the Albanian political life in general. Osmani also talked on the Gostivar regional governance, political spirit and development concerns that exist in the community. Osmani highlighted the role of the Albanian factor to further perfect the Ohrid Agreement as well as the contribution it can play for the extension of pluripartitism in the neighboring country.
Berisha said that Albanians, wherever they are, were an important part of a democratic evolutionary process. He also highly evaluated the recent elections in Macedonia and the support of the Albanian government for Ohrid historical agreement.
