Berisha thanking Islamic funding of private sector

TIRANA, Oct 5 – Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha received the chief executive officer of Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, Khaled M. Al-Aboodi.
After he thanked the prime minister for the hospitality, Khaled M. Al-Aboodi presented the platform of cooperation between the Corporation and the banking and business sector in Albania, a cooperation which will be finalized with a conference due to be organized in Tirana in November.
Berisha assured Khaled M. Al-Aboodi for the support of all the government structures to deepen cooperation between Albania and the Corporation. The prime minister emphasized that the financing of the existing projects is quite important as well as those in the course of implementation in vital sectors like agriculture, tourism, the providing of micro-credits to encourage the increase of livestock and agricultural production and encouragement of planting as well as the production of fruit trees.
Also he presented the projects in infrastructure such as the ports, airports, roads and other major projects which are under implementation and financing process.
Khaled M. Al-Aboodi said he was impressed at the pace of growth of the Albanian economy and the number of the investment projects underway. He said that in the conference due to take place in the near future there will be a lot of investing and financial companies from Kuwaiti Fund, Saudi Arabia etc. interested in extending their activities in Albania.
He said that the projects underway in Albania are attractive for the financial sector of the group he leads and others in this field. Likewise, Khaled M. Al-Aboodi said that the strengthening of the private banking system would be greatly interesting along with the stimulation of micro-credits in the agricultural and livestock sector.
“It is part of the policies and practices of the Corporation for the time being the extension into these fields and Albania is already in its map. Tourism and immovable property sector is also interesting for financing and investment by their Corporation,” said Khaled M. Al-Aboodi.
