TIRANA, Oct 6 – Speaking at a talk show Prime Minister Sali Berisha, also leader of the governing Democratic party, said that he would leave politics if his party lost in next year’s general elections.
“I would bill the loss only to one person, Sali Berisha,” said the premier at the TV Klan talk show. “And for that the proper personality will take the proper decisions, But my loss is far away.”
There have long been calls or questions whether Berisha should leave politics together with then-Socialist leader Fatos Nano.
While Nano seems to have practically abandoned politics since he resigned after the loss of his party in 2005, that is not the case with Berisha, determined he will win again next year.
