Berisha to visit Germany Oct. 8

TIRANA, Oct 1 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha will make an official visit to Germany Oct. 8 invited by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
He is also to meet with the German foreign minister and business representatives.
Berisha is to talk on bilateral and regional issues with German hosts.
Albania’s possible membership into NATO and further cooperation with the European Union will be two other main topics of talks.
Germany is soon expected to ratify Albania’s and Croatia’s NATO membership.
The visit will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Albanian-German diplomatic ties and cooperation.
Germany is one of post-communist Albania’s main supporters and a main donor.
Later this month, Oct 20-22 there will be held a German Albanian business conference.
