TIRANA, Jan. 16 – Local media reported Wednesday that Prime Minister Berisha was expected to visit Kosova February 7 to give his blessings to the newest state in Europe.

Gazeta Shqiptare quoted unidentified sources in speculating that the date for Kosova’s independence has been already set for February 6.

Sources close to Berisha said his visit has been scheduled in the first week of February, so that Berisha will be the first Prime Minister in Europe to travel to Kosova and offer congratulations.

The paper reports that little else is known whether Berisha’s visit is part of an international arrangement which plans high level visits to Kosova after the announcement of its independence.

The same sources confirm to Gazeta Shqiptare and Standard newspaper that Berisha’s visit to Kosova will be postponed if there will be a postponement in the announcement of Kosova’s independence.
