Britain also against passing the lustration law

TIRANA – The United Kingdom, in common with other of Albania’s international partners, is concerned about the imminent vote in Parliament on the draft Lustration Law, said a statement issued last week.
It is very important that a law with such serious constitutional implications is given sufficient time for broad consultation and discussion, involving national and international experts.
Any lustration process must meet international standards.
We consider that postponing a vote to allow wider consultation and public debate would be a positive and welcome step.
