Bulgaria’s Prime Minister to Pay Visit to Albania

SOFIA/TIRANA, Jan. 22 – Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev will visit Tirana Jan. 28 invited from his Albanian counterpart Sali Berisha. The business program of the visit will start Jan. 29 with a welcoming ceremony for the Bulgarian premier and official talks between the two delegations. An Agreement of Cooperation in the field of counteracting terrorism, organized crime and illegal trafficking, will be signed between the governments of Bulgaria and Albania, in the presence of the two Prime Ministers.
Stanishev will also meet the Albanian Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli and President Alfred Moisiu. He will also meet with opposition Socialist leader Edi Rama. Stanishev is to be accompanied by Interior Minister Rumen Petkov, Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski, deputy Foreign Minister Lyubomir Kyuchukov and other senior officials.
