TIRANA, Nov. 5- More than 1500 companies have presented a request at the general Directory of Taxation in order to be able to pay their taxes online. Weeks after the promotion of the option of online payments, especially for the VAT, 20 subjects are already part of the procedure. These are primarily big businesses and have already received usernames and passwords in order to do their transactions online. Right now this option is given only for VAT taxes while the same has been planned for profit taxes as well. Experts from the Service of taxpayer registration say that the online procedure saves tike, costs and avoids all bureaucratic hassles. The project is supported by USAID, and aims at transforming all obligations into payables by internet.
