Central Bank has injected 2.34 billion euro in liquidity in third quarter of 2009

TIRANA, Jan 20؁lbania’s central bank has injected 322.54 billion leks ($3.31 billion/2.34 billion euro) in the third quarter of last year, mostly through one-week repo deals, it said on Wednesday.
Bank of Albania injected 233.59 billion leks through one-week repo deals in the second quarter of 2009.
In the third quarter the Bank of Albania injected an average 23.03 billion leks a week in one-week reverse repo deals and an average 3.33 billion leks per auction in one-month and an average 3.25 billion leks per auction in three-month reverse repo deals, it said in a statement.
The central bank also used one-day deposits to regulate daily liquidity – by using 0.35 billion leks on average over the third quarter, compared to 0.14 billion leks in the previous quarter. It also used one-day credits once, injecting 5.7 million leks.
The central bank did not intervene in the domestic foreign exchange market in the third quarter.
