TIRANA, Oct 10 – US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent last week a letter of congratulations to Albanian Interior Minister Lulzim Basha.
After congratulating the appointment of Basha as interior minister, Clinton also mentioned the fact that Basha led the foreign ministry when the country became a NATO member in April “ensuring a legacy of security and transatlantic cooperation for the people of Albania.”
Clinton also hailed Basha “for the tremendous support that you extended to Kosovo in joining the community of nations.” Clinton also wrote that she looked forward to working with his successor in the post, Ilir Meta, “to realize our shared goal of a peaceful and prosperous southeast Europe.”
