TIRANA, Feb 23 – Thousands of people in northern Albania were isolated and many national and almost all rural road networks in the area were blocked following heavy snow and cold weather throughout the country.
In some mountainous areas snow was more than a meter high blocking almost all roads in northeastern Albania and creating serious problems to other areas.
Emergency officials were trying to keep contacts with all remote communes and assist their daily needs, especially referring to their health issues.
